Early (c.1930s-40s) Cast Iron Utility Knife, Original Paint

This is an early, cast iron utility knife marked, “Made in U.S.A.” Very similar to one manufactured by Stanley Tools (No. 299) or its “Defiance” line No. 1299 first introduced in the 1920s. Still sporting its original red paint. Cleaned and coated/buffed with a protective bees wax/mineral oil paste.
