I am looking for information on this piece. There are no marks on the piece. It is gold plated and I think it is Bakelite. It is not glass or mineral. When I google search it the only things that come up are orbs of light in rock crystal or glass, with some of the larger ones being lockets. This does not open and I am wondering if anyone recognizes it, or its purpose, other than for ornamentation. The orb measures approximately 1 1/4 inch (3 1/4 inches total). Thank you for any help that you might be able to provide.
