My Biyfriend William is a machinist. When we found the treadle head at a yard sale for $5 he grabbed it as a oroject- a gift for me. He got it running, with no difficulty. The top case is badly warped from being outside. He’s been trying to station the original pieces to no avail. I’m a fine woodworker. I keep telling him “ that’s MY job! ( also, to NO avail! Lol

      Minnow2025, Beautiful quilt. <3

So you found a British treadle sewing machine for 5 bucks, and your machinist boyfriend was able to get it working without any difficulty?

Yeah, that's the story of a huge number of those old cast-iron sewing machines. They were made before the planned obsolescence era, and unless they're missing parts, all most of them need is a bit of cleaning and lubrication.

I'd love to see the sewing machine you have the inclination to create another post.
