    I bought this cheap at a thrift store a few years ago. Some type of storage chest or dresser -- I really have no idea what this is or how old it is. Last image shows the only marking a could find on it -- a wax seal? Thanks in advance for any info!

      This is as it looks when dealers were tampering with furniture in the 1920's & up to
      the 1950's. They were making up technically new pieces mixed with old to make up something that looks older than it is actually. These were especially made in the 20's with older broken down pieces. Most people want the antiques NOT tampered with of coarse. That happens a lot on Antique Road show.

      It's a Tibetan cabinet. Do a reverse photo search on the whole cabinet. Chairish & First Dibs charge a fortune for them. Some look almost identical to yours. Some have feet, some don't.
