An odd little vase, I found locally in Wales ... I think it's great. I'm a bit stumped as to where it's from, looks South American or thereabouts to me . Google has been no help; I have tried hard. I expect it was made for the tourist industry? Any help very much appreciated

      LizzyCGB, Cute. <3

FWIW, Google Lens found another one, the purveyor of which said they'd bought it in Bali:

It also found yet another, but it was at booking dot com, and it was one of many photographs presumably provided by a customer reviewing a Hungarian destination called "Flair Apartmanház":

      Keramikos ... Thank you.
I saw both of those, but for some reason it led to nothing. I was in the wrong end of the world entirely

      LizzyCGB, You're welcome. :-)

Yeah, I figure the one Google Lens find in Hungary is just some apartment decor that the owner picked up somewhere. It could have been Bali, but who knows?

As to the other, all we have to go on is the purveyor's word that they bought it in Bali. Not sure what they meant by "Please refrain from those who are concerned about details, those who are nervous."

Also, even if they bought it in Bali is no guarantee that it was made there, or even representative of Balinese pottery.

A quick look around using "traditional Balinese pottery figurines" as search criteria found this, but it's wood:

"Balinese Agung Family Bali Folk Art Figures statue handmade wood carving"

Thank you again. I'm still not a lot the wiser. He is on a shelf and there he will stay. Often over time something comes along out of the blue and the puzzle is solved

It could happen. I've seen it happen here at CW S&T. Somebody will post a mystery item, and nobody will be able to find out anything about it.

Time passes, more attics, basements, etc., get cleared out, more information gets posted to the InterTubes, and voila: answers are found. };-)
