miniature version of an antique belt driven drill press.
It's powered by an antique General Electric Motor, but, it does not have much power and will stall if drilling a hole larger than 1/8"

Love it HF. Did you do any research on the Drill Press Maker itself, or did GE make everything?

A very remarkable design of this miniature drill press!!!! Speaking of remarkable, your collection of miniatures and models are over the top !! I love them all.
thanks scotto for your complements. I love miniatures, especially when they operate like the full sized items.
thanks Izenglish, both the drill press itself and the motor are not made by GE. The GE motor is one that I had waiting to put to use for something. That something came along when I acquired this mini drill press. I would prefer a smaller motor with a little more power to it, but, it will have to do until i get a better one.
The drill press does not have a mfg. signature.
I think you have what is known as a "Sensitive Drill Press" they are for doing small number drill size holes, the idea being that you could feel the drill working and not snap them off as would happen if using them with a stanard drill press. Used to be lots of different designs in the UK Model Engineer magazine back in the early days.
I think that you may be correct BHIFOS, because the speed is quite great. Which would be necessary for small bits.
