This is another one of my finds from the bi monthly antiques fair. I spotted this through the milling crowds & was pretty excited to get my hands on it! Look at all the neat stuff going on - it’s pink, there’s colourful spatter, a nice touch of mica spangled bling, plus topped off with a silver collar!
The vase measures 16.5 cm tall, 3 cm across the top rim, & 5.5 cm across the base. It is made from cased glass, clear over pink with a rather peloton - like spatter in red, yellow, & cobalt blue with mica spangles. The simple, slightly flared cylindrical form shows off the busy decor very effectively.
Interestingly, I had not seen a decor like this before in person, until I was looking through Peggy’s collection & was reminded I had seen it before, just in a different shape. So I guess this is also by Welz. - happy days!
Bohemian origin, late 19th century.

Here’s Peggy’s vase in this decor -

Thanks for posting my vase. I actually thought you were referring to a green vase I have, before I clicked on the reference. The green ones are the exact same shape as yours, with the same silver collar, and a peloton decor but without the spangle. Would you allow me to use an image of your vase in a post to the Welz group. I'd be really pleased if my green pair were Welz. However it'll be a while before I do the post.
Peggy, it’s my pleasure, I always enjoy having a look through your posts because our tastes are so similar for one thing!
I’m more than happy to send you an image to use for the Welz group, & will be in touch soon. I actually hadn’t thought of the green peloton vases! I did see an example of that decor for sale (not a vase, some sort of small lidded jar) but it was a bit pricey for me, especially since the lid had a “ding”…
Thank you, Marin. I shall acknowledge the help of an Australian collector of my acquaintance. I've also found that I have a Trophy vase shape in that décor so the evidence is building.
A trophy vase in this decor sounds totally fab!
Pleased to help with the evidence collection…I rather like the idea of being a glass detective… :-)
Beautiful! Love the colors!
Many thanks vintagelamp!
