Journey Band Tour Jacket given to Richard "Rindell" Ivers for the 1998/99 Tour. Rindell was the tour manager from 1998 to 2001. This was the late "Trial By Fire" tour, which was supposed to happen with the album drop, but Steve Perry sustained a severe hip injury while training in Hawaii, and the tour was put on hold. A LONG HOLD, as Perry refused to get surgery until he was sure about it. Finally, the rest of the group told Perry that they were going on without him, and Perry officially left the group in May of 1998. Steve Perry was replaced by singer Steve Augeri, and the name of the tour was changed to "Vacations Over".
This jacket was never worn; it was put away instead. It has leather sleeves and leather for the opening of the pockets on the front. There is insulation on the inside and Wool on the outside. The name, "Rindell", is embroidered on the left side upper chest, and "Vacation's Over World Tour 1998-99 is on the right. It took some doing to verify the name, but I found an interview that Neal Schon did in 2001, where he states that "Rindell" told him the phone interview was set. Also, the name Richard "Rindell" Ivers shows up in Journey's history as a tour manager. That was the provenance I needed for the verification.
A very rare and very nice piece of Journey memorabilia, I love it!
