This was a super win on eBay AU last week, a very beautiful & slightly mysterious glass vase.
It is made from two layers of cased glass, clear over mauve & pink streaks with a smooth satin finish. The vase measures 20 cm tall, 9 cm across the cupped, 8 pointed star shaped top rim, & 7.5 cm across the base, which does not have a pontil mark.
As can be seen in the last photo, the distinctive mauve & pink streaked decor matches another item in my collection. This has an iridescent finish instead of satin, but I do feel they are both most likely by the same maker.
The 8 pointed star rim is quite unusual, a first in my collection. Does anyone recognise it? I feel that I may have seen a shape like this in a Tango colour at some point.
Bohemian origin, likely early 20th century.

Nice. The shape may correspond to a drawing in a book by Franz Tomschick glassworks from around 1927. I will post this drawing on CW. Compare it with the shape of your vase. I will remove it tomorrow, or you can download the photo.
Many thanks, Ales, very much appreciated! I’ve copied the photo. It definitely looks like the same shape as my vase.
