Radioisotopes and Life Processes
U.S. Atomic Energy Commission
1966, 1967
"This is a book in the "Understanding the Atom Series".from the Division of Technical Information, U. S. Atomic Energy Commission. The authors explore general cell theory, radioisotopes as "biologic detectives," the basics of DNA and RNA in cell structure, protein synthesis and the role of radioisotopes in research."
This is definitely not an exciting book. But here's what got me excited..my sister had cleaned out her garage and had stuff added to the pile for this weekends Fleamarket. I'm working, so she is selling our etsy store booth alone. I saw this pile of books from dad's stuff. I immediately snagged it because the Atomic Energy Commission connection.
Several years ago I showed some rare patches from the Atomic Defense Command. This was the predecessor to the Atomic Energy Commission.
"The Atomic Defense Command (1947 - 1959)...also called, The Armed Forces Special Weapons Project (AFSWP) was a United States military agency responsible for those aspects of nuclear weapons remaining under military control after the Manhattan Project was succeeded by the Atomic Energy Commission on 1 January 1947. "
FYI- The only thing I remember from science class was the stages of cell division.

Here's my post from a long time ago showing the Atomic Defense Command patches..

You're way out in front of me. About all I can remember is the tour of the school bomb shelter when I was in kindergarten. They gave us samples of the food we'd have to eat if we had to be down there for an extended period. Major ick. >8-0
