Carboys in wooden crates

These 5 gallon glass carboys were used by the Great Bear Spring Co., which began operation in Fulton NY in 1894. The bottles are embossed variously with Great Bear Springs, Fulton, and a distributer Berkshire Products Co. that was located in the Bronx. The crates have vertical wooden slats mounted on springs in each corner to hold the glass snugly in place and are all stenciled “Great Bear Spring Company, Ideal Spring Water”
