    This is the oldest nickel I found in my dad's coin collection. It looks pretty much the same as every other nickel today but it has different positioning of the words. Thomas Jefferson looks like he is smiling a little more in this one.

      Jefferson Nickels are like candy for old coin hunters like myself. For whatever reason, Jeffersons from the '40s and 50s can still be found in circulation in pretty good numbers.
