Epitomizing Mid-century Modern design as applied to tableware, Hyalyn Porcelain, Inc.'s 'Casual Craft' line was developed by noted sculptor and product designer Erwin Kalla and produced in the early to mid 1950s. Don't search for Casual Craft dinner plates or bowls - you won't find them. The Casual Craft line was limited to serving pieces, as well as mugs, salt + pepper shakers, vases, and ash trays. Glazes used include speckled matte blue, brown, orange, and gray. Many pieces incorporate rattan wrapped or bamboo handles.
