This is a great little booklet for the US Government War Exposition held in Chicago in SEP 1918 (THANKS for the date information walksoftly).
The booklet has a catalogue of the exhibits and a central picture showing some of the larger items on display.
What appealed to me is the cover art depicting a US doughboy with the most desired souvenir-- a German Spiked Helmet!

I can see why, an image like that would get peoples attention & they would be sure to attend the Exposition.
I imagine the same image would have been used on posters for advertising the event.
It's interesting that this event was held in Sept. 1918, just prior to the flu pandemic.

I wonder did they start celebrating early, or was it part of a War Bond tour?
I am not sure david-- it would seem to make sense for 1918 that it was tied to War Bonds.
