I'm not sure if they had to have them in 1900, If Chicago did God only knows what happend to it. By 1910 he was working for the Rail Road, If you wern't working for the Police or Fire Dept. you worked...

I love this, My Father was a Fireman in Chicago in 1945. He worked out of Engine 17 on W. Lake St.
