This was an amazing find the other week. This is a Victorian 9ct Lorgnette chain that has lost its dog clasp. This weighs 23.6 grams and is 24" long. I love the detailing and weight if this piece. Found at the local flea. Thanks for looking

Hi Melanie. How does one identify a lognette chain? Are there thing that are specific to it, as opposed to a regular chain? It is lovely, great detailing! You have a great flea market....

Bluboi, I judge the weight and length. Then I go to look at the design of the chain. I own quite a few Lorgnette chains from sterling to 18k. These types of chains are one if my greatest pieces of my collections. Especially when hey are double sided as most are. Thanks for asking. Take a look at my earlier postings. They are all nice examples of them.
