      Not Indian, it's a traditional Chinese storage jar, wrapped in bamboo. It's stoneware, thrown on a potter's wheel, glazed, and fired in a kiln...none of which is true of Native American pottery. The distinctive way it is wrapped, with the "X" pattern between two bands, also show it is Chinese.

      i've found these thrown out as well. i always collect them and put them in my nursery. when people ask, i just say $40-50, but mine are quite a bit bigger than this one, i think.

      This is actually about 2 feet high and very heavy
