This is a WW1 Trench Art tank. The tank is an uncommon subject in trench art and I prize those in my collection.
The base is wood that has been covered with an ornamental piece of bronze—appears to be some sort of door embellishment. The treads are from the driving band on a large shell.
The body has the name “Louise” etched into it—probably the wife or girlfriend who this was brought home for.
