This 1 1-2" goldtone jaguar head has sparkling white rhinestones, black enamel spots and two intense green eyes. Brooch can also be worn as pendant with loop & chain. By Kenneth Jay Lane with mark from the 1970s

That's a gorgeous cat! He's so fierce with his staring green eyes! He reminds me of some Indian pieces of furniture that you usually see on bed posts and chair arms etc. Those are incredible and he reminds me of them so much :)

Thanks so much Phil for your wonderful compliment & agree it's a pretty nice KJL design, very powerful and lifelike. Perhaps he did model this on a real jaguar or leopard, provided of course he kept his distance lol :)
Lauren he is a totally fierce big cat!! The green eyes are just mesmerizing and in that way true to life....look at any predatory wild cat and they have those "hungry eyes" that are so focused & determined, I know they can see in the dark but wonder about how far. Yes they certainly do make beautiful leopard furniture, that animal is the symbol for Cartier jewelry and in one of my home decor magazines, Cartier has redesigned their offices in NY and Paris with many decorating motifs of this beautiful cat. I think my best posts are when I have a theme like this, or sometimes holidays, things that put me in a good mood; Brazil has always been on my travel "wish list", my husband was lucky enough to go there on a business trip but one day it would be nice to visit together. I would love to take a cable car up to the top of Corcovado mountain to see the huge open armed statue of Christ, hopefully someday
