This vase came from the Collector's Fair here in Sydney about eight months ago. The dealer had no idea about it and had decided to sell it off cheaply. I couldn't resist it. I had no idea about its identity and eight months later I have a better idea thanks to one of the Glasshounds Erik from Belgium. He suggested that it could well be by Baccarat. Greatsnowyowl has suggested Harrach.
I love the Orientalism of the Japonaise enamel insects and the floral decor. The rigaree around the lip of the vase has blue iridescence and I like the trailed decoration down the neck as well.
Another French item for the Quatorze?
Or an item from the Erlaucht Graf Harrach'schen?

The bugs are outlined in gold, filled in with enamel and some are then overpainted in gold.
