I thought I would share some photos of my father and his military training. He first attended Gulf Coast Military Academy, then Virginia Military Institute, then in the Army. The last photo was taken sometime just before his D-Day landing, I believe, and he is on the right.
enjoy.

Wonderful pictures & history. VMI Dress Grey uniform worn with either matching grey trousers or the more formal parade whites. Modeled after West Point's. More moments in time cemeted forever. Thank you for sharing, packrat!
Thank you very much for the kind words Harborguy. Yes, my father lived a military life until he passed away in 1992.
Thank you very much scottvez.
These pics are great...my mom had a bunch of old photos from when her father was in ww2. I scanned and photo shopped them all. she was surprised at what had faded after all these years. they're almost new again. my way to preserve the past.
Second time around here, and they still astonish me! Just saved this mighty warrior to my Military history folder.
