And here you have the third design: OSLO!

In this case Ricard designed also a cigarette-box and for the first time used steel in his ashtrays designs.

The shape of the OSLO ashtray is in fact the same of that of the COPENHAGUE one: same height, same diameter, same size for the cigarette opening... although in this case there is no elevated platform in the center nor deep ash-container... this is of course a more elegant ashtray that's to be on a table or desk.

As for the cigarette-box, the design cannot be simpler: a mere cylinder in which the lid has been made in steel.

At some time in the late 60s or early 70s, Flamagás made a special edition in mbero wood instead of plastic (mbero is a sort of a (much) lesser quality mahogany that grows in Ecuatorial Guinea, what at the time was a Spanish province, so whereas in the whole of Europe they used teak, we used mbero) and added a lighter previously designed by Ricard, the MENHIR, to create a sophisticated smoking set that would make an excellent refined present... and that's how my parents got theirs (which is mine now, of course).

Ther is a third version of Oslo, this time made in polycarbonate plastic (the original ones being made in melamine), which is a much more fragile kind of plastic (melamine was advertised at the time as "the unbreakabe plastic").

As much as they are absolutely nice, I don't think they're as good designs as COPENHAGUE and STOCKHOLM.

Ricard created fout more ashtrays for Flamagás untill 1970/1972. This time three of them were called after Spanish places (BARCELONA; MALLORCA and TOSSA) and a fourth one was called the very worldly and sophisticated name of COCKTAIL...
