So, I was asked by the family to get a bunch of the Estate sold since I was not working because My tech business went under..
Anyways, I have learned that EVERYTHING in this Estate had some value and that is why it was kept..
Not an expert really in anything, I started off and was doing well till these beautiful things came up.. Thinking they were not really costume jewelry, I put the two necklaces And Earrings up on Ebay For ( gasp! what a Dork ) 100.00. WHOA, within 20 minutes I discovered that I had me some sparkly's worth something.. Pulled it off Ebay and had an offer for 1200.00 right now, plus one for 2000.00 .. I AM NO LONGER A IDIOT, I took my time and found out a bunch of cool stuff
I thought they were glass- Nope- Pools of Light- Are Crystals
The supply of Pools of Light seemed to exhaust itself around the 1930's,
A true "Pool of Light" crystal will magnify and refract an image (so that it appears upside-down),
"Pools of Light" are worth far more if the crystals are not drilled, as this would affect the way the beads catch the light. This set was also not set in a plain setting, but the nice Sterling ones above, 44" 50 crystals on the Bigger MM crystals and 52 on the smaller as well as the earrings..
I saw one the other day for 4500.00.. Thanks for your interest.

Love your journey...:-)
I love this kind of jewelry!
What a great story! I always wondered why people made a big deal about pools of light, I couldn't see it--and I was probably looking at fakes. Now I see them in in whole "different light." Yours are so beautiful, and the silver detail is lovely.
I love this piece so much, I immediately found a single on on eBay, and handed it to my hubby. I am wearing it now. Wish I could have justified this piece.
ebay babies love their pool of lights -- glad you caught it!!!!!
That is a great story, and a great learning experience....and I also learned as I had not heard of "Pools of Light", now i know. Thank you for sharing!
