This stool has ebony inlay and is made around 1910.
The designer could be Jac. van den Bosch. I'd like that :-), but I don't know. He is probably the most famous Dutch furniture designer in the period around 1900 in this particular style, together with Berlage and Sluyterman (Onder den Sint Maarten).
It's adjustable in height and sadly the original cover is missing.
