We found these in the farm estate we purchased last winter, the same one I pulled the gong, Beatles books, and Willy's Jeep from. They are a pair of Jadite Foo Dogs with wooden bases. They weigh about 7lbs each and are not exactly the same, but pretty close. I don't know much about Asian collectibles so I threw them up in the attic until now, and they will be back there soon.
They are very dense and cool and creamy to the touch. Are these Jadite or Jade? I admit I'm clueless when it comes to these.

This kind of decorative pieces are really common in fengshui or "antique" shops along tourist streets. Highly doubt that they are Burmese jadeite or nephrite both commonly referred to as "jade".

More likely bowenite, a type of serpentine.

I am being serious when I say I usually get 2-3 notices of these being sold every WEEK. They are being sold nonstop on liveauctioneers.com and if you look on sold items you should be able to pull up a couple hundred that have sold !~

    They are listed under bookends.
