This is a wonderful work by Maxine Kim Stussy. It is untitled and not dated, but the newspaper page that the artist used to create her artwork on is dated December 8, 1957. This piece was bought by a famous actor in Hollywood from the artist and he gave this to a friend of mine in the 1980's. And I now have it in my home. I love this so much, the colors and how the newspaper has a golden patina that brings out the black and white of the artwork. I think of my friend every time I look at this, he knew this was my favorite of all the works of art he had in his home.

This is 27 inches in length by 19 inches in height. The frame is gorgeous wood that is dovetailed together and very heavy.

Although there are categories for Folk Art, Art Nouveau, Prints and Posters and Mid Century Modern, there is no right category to put fine art like this in on this website. There should be categories for paintings and drawings and fine art. Because this work was done on a page from a newspaper, the people who run this site think this should be in the Paper and Newspaper categories. I hope they give us more categories soon for things like this.
