MY NEW DOG, DUKE!

I went to a yard sale a couple of weeks ago. Upscale neighborhood, indoors, moving. I knew I was in the wrong place. Giant hutch...$7800. DR table and four chairs...$1500. Sectional sofa... $3500. Flower vases on the mantle...$150. You get the picture. This wasn't exactly "pickin" prices.
In the middle of the floor sat a life size metal casting of a great dane. Between it's ears was a sticky note that said "best offer". I asked what he had in mind, certain that I would not be able to afford it. He said, "$30 or $40 dollars". I said, "I'll take it for $30" as I thrust $30 dollars into his hand! It took both of us to carry it to the truck.
