High Dutch telephone sign

I got this red metal, baked enamel sign from a friend of mine after I invited him and his wife to my bush pub for a BBQ. The sign is in high Dutch, English on the reverse side. I live in South Africa and this sign must have been made before Afrikaans became a language on its own. There are still old Bibles in high Dutch to be found, (Family Bibles), but I have never come across vintage sign from that era.
