I received this as a gift fifteen years ago. I don't know when it was made or anything about the maker. The label inside says "Irene". Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

OK...Is it wrong for a guy to appreciate the beautiful beadwork in a bag like this?I saw one in a shop I go to that was small and had a swastica in it.I love Nazi art...Soooo Deco but I don't like what it stands for.I was drawn to it every time I went there...for months.Finally it was gone.Anyway this is a real beauty wolcott !!! Very nice gift !!
No! it isn't wrong for you to appreciate beautiful beadwork. That kind of thing amazes me (beadwork). You have an appreciation for beauty, that's great!! This bag is beautiful! I think the oval with flowers makes it quite special. I have a great book on bags by Judith Miller where the style of bags are dated. From that I would say your bag is probably 1910-1930's. Most likely 1920's. I can't see the fabric inside your bag and can't see if there is sign of age so I only say this from the style and the beading. Lovely bag!
