Do not know the history of this knife. It was given to me as a gift from another collector of the Colt lightning Rifles. The Rifles first came out in 1884 and production ended in 1904. The only markings on the knife is the initials U.S.A. on one side of the blade

I see U.S.A. stamped on the tang - is there a stamp mark on the other side?

The production dates of the rifles has nothing to do with the knife.

I have the same knife but , three blade I would like information on it .. I can't find any.
