Sinclair Gasoline

Wow! Did that ever take a lot of patience to finally find the Lair half for our newest Sinclair sign. We now have 4 1/2 of them at aaaLakeside Storage and only one gas station. This new 1/2 of the sign is a little bit different in color than the first 1/2 that we bought about a year and a half ago, but it is close enough for us and it's a lot closer than it is for the other 1/2 sign that we have. This one was owned by a collector friend who passed away and was being used to cover and protect a piece of plywood from the elements until he found the other half. Unfortunately I had never seen it before the other day. I'm not sure why there appear to be more of the SINC sides than the LAIR sides, but that is certainly our experience thus far? It's also interesting that the greens used by different Companies are shaded a little bit differently with some having more Blue in them than others? I guess that uniformity was not an issue in the Olden days? We still aren't sure where we will finally display this cool sign, but we will certainly find a home for it somewhere great! Maybe on the other side of the Sinclair Service Station that faces the North side? (Back side)? We shall see. Maybe you'll have a suggestion when you come and see us or even by email?
Keep on hunting as we still need another LAIR 1/2 for the other piece we have. The fun is in the Hunt anyway.
