This particular decor was a Kamei favorite and I think dates to the 60s maybe 70s. The Japanese taste for sparkle and glitter was well addressed by this style, although personally it's not a favorite.
It might be next week though, because my taste swings around a lot!
The vase is made from a very very deep blue and then large amounts of what I assume is aventurine has been added. As the glass has been blown into the mould the sparkle has stretched and twisted nicely.
When not backlit the vase looks like it's made from black glass.
The aventurine in this decor is so intense that these vases from a distance and in photos can look like they are solid copper.
This decor was made in a number of shapes: a variety of balusters, and some squat, neckless shapes as well.
This is a larger one at 28cm.
Very very...noyce-er!!!....:-)
Cheers dear!!
Lovely glass.....with yet more comedy :-)
A new approach to cobalt and aventurine.Aventurine is so dominant, that the colour of background seems to be less important.A beautiful vase (as usual) !
What a wonderful vase, I love the glitter! :)
Thanks Peggy - I'm a bit up at the moment so bear with the silliness....I appreciate your appreciation!
