Found this sword in my great grand dad's house when I was remodeling wondering if it is of something certain origin

    This sword was found wrapped in cowhide was the only item found. No one in my family knows anything about it. I heard from my dad that great granddad was a mason. Other than that i havent a clue of its orgin.

      The "Italy" mark and very crude detailing of the hilt would make me believe it is a modern souvenir piece.
