A Royal Doulton ewer. Called The Old Wife, but there are fish not an old wife. That is because Old Wife is the name of the fish; it makes a chattering sound when caught. Date is 1940.

The date is 1940. WWII ended a lot of great Doulton series ware. This is marked Australia.
