I am hopeful some one can help me determine this vase
My Mother gave it to me (93) and believes she can remember it being in her family home as a child - possibly 1 of a pair.
She is of the opinion he Mother also had it for many years.

I imagine it is Satsuma - though it is unmarked and has no identification.
The vase has no cracks or chips
The intricacy of the painting is unbelievable and is rich in gold paint and detail.
I have been advised by one expert (?) the figure painted on the vase is that of Emperor Tung - apparently when travelling from China to Japan
The female figure is apparaently his Empress.
The vase is approx 14 inches high
While I have seen many pieces of Satsuma I have never seen one which is so "earthenware" in its pottery - yet so embossed with gold and incredible painting

    Any thoughts please?

    Thanks
