Super cool old embossed metal "Northwest" Sign, measuring 46" long x 9.5" tall. The metal feels like maybe steel, and definitely has some character. I feel it is safe to assume that this piece is transportation related, but I would love to know more information if anyone knows. I am guessing it is maybe railroad related, or maybe from a bigger road intersection? The "W" has an embossed dot above it, which is also unique. Maybe from another country? And this sign was found in an antique shop in the middle of Eastern Washington. I most likely will be keeping this piece, being that we live in the Northwest, but I like to be able tell visitors to our home more of a story about it! So it can't be displayed until I know more.... I'm weird like that.... Thanks for looking!!!

Looks like a road sign, save for the fact that it's missing, say, "avenue". LOL.

I just got the same but slightly different sign. 50 1/2"x 10". Same letter style, same dot over the W. The Only visual difference; I have a 2" × 7 1/2" (height of the letters) raised spacer between NORTH and WEST.
2 1/4" attachment flange on either end (the top and bottom border ends) with 2 holes each and I have two holes on the spacer, but not centered or straight. I guess that's a 3 post sign.
Wish I could figure how to put a picture up.
It was found in Virginia, but not sure originally.
I'm perplexed: NORTH is not opposite of WEST, so as a directional sign it's odd.
      My wheels are turning. :)

Awesome you found it! It's a tiny bit different than mine, but looks about right! Cool to know you found where your sign originally came from. I'm gonna say mine originated from the same place if anyone asks! Thanks for sharing your research! I had given up on mine .....
