I bought this TilSo jewelry box at a garage sale. I don't know much about it, except that is was made in Japan. I've tried to find out how old it is, but have been unable to locate any info on this piece. Does anyone have any info on this?

All I can offer is that this would be circa 1960s.

I would think 1970's to early 80's. 60's seems a bit early for this style. I know that Sears carried this brand and a lot of them may be found in the old sears catalogs. The style I was seeing until the later 1980's. Some identical are on ebay right now.

I was researching these a little while back, when I found that I needed a bit smaller one to put my jewellery in.

I see that Schmid Bros. made a lot of jewellery boxes for TilSo also.

Also to note is that Schmid used such songs as evergreen, raindrops keep falling on my head, dream the impossible dream, which were mainly 70's songs for a lot of their music boxes. The tilso sticker was put on separately to their music boxes. The early boxes with balerinas may have had older traditional songs.
