This is marked "Jacobus Patent Nov 10 96". I take that to mean 1896. Seems they came up with a new model in 1903 so I would think somewhere between that time.
It is 2" tall by 1 7/8" across the lid and 1 1/2" across the base.
It fits neatly into a hole in my secretarial desk. This desk is used for many of my Matchbox car posts.
