This is one of several posts today to celebrate and show why early plastic and vintage plastic jewelry is so fantastic. I will make a collection that hopefully can be of inspiration. I´ll let the photos speak for themselves beacuse here I want to show the variation and ideas. It will take up some space today and I hope you will forgive me for it and see the passion of a collector :).

Vintage plastic bead necklaces are like candy to me. When you think you have had enough there´s alway a new color, shape or type that you just have to have :) If they have a hidden crew bead you can even conect them together to a longer necklace in matching on different colors - there are no limitations :)

I've been looking for 1960s pop bead jewelry. I haven't seen any in many years.

Thankyou Efesgirl for loving this. Pop bead jewerly is a new term to me. Can you describe it to me?

Pop beads could be "popped apart", you could make it shorter, a bracelet, etc. I think pop beads were a 60's fad. The plastic used wasn't high quality, but to find a strand that wasn't worn too much - a fun party item, mixing matching colors, etc.

You don't have any pop beads. LOVE your collection! I can't pick a favorite but I love red and I love the egg yolk (?) and the Carmel Swirl (?) and Mississippi Mud (?) right above it. Thanks for posting this!

Thanks Valentino for the information. And as always thank you for your interest and attention :) Yes colors are like temperaments - sometimes I need the calm and sometimes the strong colors. Hard to just pick one :)

Your collection of plastic jewelry is over-the-top beautiful Elizabeth! There are far too many for me to comment on each, so as a collection, I give it two thumbs up. :-)

Sorry Elisabeth, but the voice recognition program on my phone misspelled your name
