Although this was not part of Diane Love's recent interview, this piece was confirmed by the designer herself; the design is based on a Chinese Mandarin hat finial. There are five knobby gold domes arranged like a cross, with two cushion-cut amethyst rhinestones and one square citrine cabochon. There are four oval-shaped baroque pearls that stick out from where the circles meet, and a single, hanging teardrop baroque pearl with an ornate bead cap. This brooch is signed "TRIFARI" with a crown above the "T" at the back. While this brooch doesn't come up often, do take note of the pearl drop; most I have seen for sale are either missing or not original to the piece. It does have a matching chain which my piece lacks, but I personally love to wear it together with my plain pearl necklaces.
