Who can help to identify this object? I know it's a strainer/filter but where it was used for? Made of silver (at least the outside, not marked). Total length 6.2 inches diameter filter 3.3inches.
    Who can tell more?

      Hi Marga :-)

Your funnel is certainly for wine :-P

Thanks again Kyra, your country is a fameus wine exporter. But please explain how to use this? To filter the wine before drinking?

here is one example of use in a decanter; wine is strained as it decanted

Marga, as shown in TallCakes! A good image is better than a long saying :-))

Some wine have deposits, and need to be aerated too to enjoy full aromas. This funnel combine both functions, aeration and filtration of the particles, as pouring the bottle in a decanter. Yummmm ;-)
