      Considered a traveling, half trunk. Some were used as hat trunks. Trow's New York City Directory pg.65 Goggle book Results: lists an advertising of this Manufacturer exactly as your label reads inside the trunk. The advertisement is dated 1861 much luck and thanks for the post.

      Love this trunk. It's different than most, the size is great and even the lock is in tact. Wow, 1861! Very cool.
