I've had this napkin or mail holder a few years and somewhat understand some of the marks. But they are in my humble opinion CONFUSING! Maybe I'm misunderstanding but I can plainly read the word PEWTER. And then there is a lion stamp and a stamp I know means pewter. So someone please help me make heads or tails of this?
My best guess is it was made of scraps at the end of the day by an employee and they just used all the stamps.
If I recall correctly I paid a whole 1.99 or .99 so no matter what it is I did ok.

Thanks Thomas, I agree, napkin holder. But all them marks are confusing.
Pewter ... Zinn is the German word for 'tin'.
Étain is a French for tin.
Most probably German (Fein Zinn meaning ``fine tin``). Number 95 indicates 95% of tin in the alloy. The French would not mark Fein Zinn on top.
I think it`s not made from scraps.

I have other pieces with that zinn mark so that is common to me. But what about the lion stamp, I've been under the impression it almost always means silver?
So hand forged, but not a scrap piece. So fairly old I'd take it?
