This is a lamp, black metal and glass. Mother bought it 50+ years ago. Inside the black frame, is a bar (all the way around the inside), that mother thinks used to have fringe. It is electric. She had a plug put on it, rather than wire through the house. It hung by a chain that is shown.

There's something rather gothic about it, with the black metal crosses and the beautiful green glass... Definitely wouldn't mind having it in my house! ^_^
(Also, I would love to see a picture with the light on, I imagine it looks great!)
