Signed M.M.Merida. I know nothing other than the little I can find about the artist online. The piece was inherited and my wife and I know very little about it. I've seen a couple pieces on eBay and once I had seen a pair of paintings by the artist in the same frames and subject as this one on an auction gallery's site but I can no longer find it. It's an original oil on canvas in great shape (the only issue is the stain on the fabric part of the frame). Size is 2x3 foot on the canvas and total is 34"x46". Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you notice the copyright symbol bottom left? What's that about?

Gillian, I did notice it. I thought he either had folk reproducing his work without permission or was worried about it. Really though I got no real clue. Can't find much about him and then trying to sort through the posts that confuse the father and son lol makes it hard to learn about this dude. It's a kick ass piece it seems a shame for it to just have it fall into anonymity in a way.

Sunnybrook, Thanks! It is a lovely scene, a great feel of the openness and hope at the start of a journey.
