I think that SpiritBear has gleaned the meaning--
I notice that some "catch phrases" of the day, can confuse us now. I am a postcard collector and there are many cards from about 100 years and upwards that have lost their significance to me. I get mad at myself for passing up good cards with wonderful graphics because I can't figure out the meaning. Usually here on CW, someone knows and clues us in. I have a LOT of "drunk" cards too!!
I don't know the history of this postcard message, but if he does not sober up quickly, someone is going to steal his pocket watch fob & watch out of his right pocket !!!
The pitfalls of falling down drunk . If the crooks don't get you. then the cops will.
Me thinks those are his braces, not a watch and fob.
