While I do not know the exact profession of these women, it is safe to say that they are in some sort of hospitality related work. Possibly a restaurant, boarding house or hotel?
At any rate they exhibit the tools of their trade-- one holds a tray with glasses of water, another a bowl, while a third scrubs a plate with a wash bucket below.
Unfortunately, there is no identification of the subjects, but the photograph is maker marked: "Helgeson, Lake Mills, Iowa". I don't have the exact dates, but the style of the cabinet card would put this image in the 1880s- 90s.
