Ended up buying this old, beat up model ship from Ebay. I noticed that it is a folk art interpretation of the famous Sovereign Of The
I know this was based on blueprints for building a kit of this ship. I had to do my research, and as I have surmised, this ship model come from blueprints from "Popular Mechanics" magazine.
"Popular Mechanics" had lots of ship modeling projects, that if you took the time to research and build it, it would turn into a very beautiful and impressive model. When I got it, I realized that the majority of fittings were not with the ship, or I should say, the original fitting to finish out as the blueprints call for. I found out that this ship model was in the 1933 "Popular Mechanic" magazine. Each month, another piece of the blueprints were printed. You could build the ship as the blueprints were printed, or you could wait till you had the complete blueprints. I'm going to make, and add all my own fittings, make the masts, and rigg it out. It will be a little folk art and an accurate ship model. This ship model is about 60 to 70 years old and it's about 35 inches long. It will be a beautiful ship when it is done. The person who stared this, never finished it. I will download it when I have completed it.
