I'm certainly not an authority on these things, but I do know there is a difference in broadcast mics, studio mics, and communications mics. This one appears to be a communications microphone, and possibly military. It's hard to tell for sure, but the color may be "olive drab" (a bit faded ?). It also looks like it would attach to a small base. Might be somewhere from the 30's or 40's ?
