    Purchased this piece at Auction, found it very interesting...but have no idea what it actually is! Auctioneer indicated that it might be some kind of Property marker ~ but unable to find anything like it online. I'm Stumped!

      Just a guess but I wonder if it's a rail station switch. .

      Caperkid - I did actually think of that one, or even some other type of RR related tool...just unable to find anything on it still!

      It appears to be a piece of sectional sewer cleanout rod that someone flattened the end of to make that snagging arrow-head looking shape (good for grabbing roots, ropes, etc.) see "Patent for sectional rod for sewer cleaning, 1911. Patented by William H. Stewart on December 5, 1911" on this page: http://www.sewerhistory.org/grfx/maint/swr_cln7.htm. Drawing shows same end as your first picture.
